Pupil Voice
The children in our school are the most important people! As such, they have lots of opportunities to share their thoughts on school issues – both formally and informally! Mrs. McGrenaghan’s door is always open for both children and adults!
School Parliament
The main aim of the School Council is to help to make our school a better place for the children and to give us an opportunity to have our opinions and ideas heard. Each class from Year One upwards has two representatives who are elected every year.
At the first meeting of the year, the important roles and jobs are selected and Miss Robinson and Miss Fletcher help us to conduct our meetings.
The class representatives tell the children in their classes what has been discussed at each meeting and the children can ask the representatives to take forward their ideas to the next meeting.
Everybody gets a fair say in the meeting and nobody gets left out.
Eco- Team.
We have a very active elected team in school. The children meet regularly under the guidance of Miss Ratcliffe and discuss how our school and community can care for our environment. They regularly raise awareness in school on how to be more environmentally friendly. The whole team have worked hard to ensure we meet the requirements of our Eco-Schools Green Flag (distinction).
Reading Ambassadors.
We have an amazing team of reading ambassadors who encourage reading for enjoyment across school. They are responsible for supporting our younger readers and encouraging reading material selection.
Art -Warriors
New for this school year is our elected group of art warriors, who help develop our 'arts curriculum'.
Our Learning.
Every topic we study at the start, the teacher will ask us what we would like to learn. The teacher then includes the things we want to know about in our learning journey.
Pupil Led School Initiative Groups
Shortly, we will be working with pupils to develop their ideas to improve key improvement areas of our work.
Children are also consulted regarding other key issues in school.
